\The City of Austin updated their Sidewalk Master Plan to improve construction and maintenance procedures for their network of 4,600 miles of existing and absent sidewalks. MWM provided civil engineering services for the Sidewalk Master Plan Update. As a precursor to the update MWM prepared the Sidewalks Peer Cities Report, created by collecting questionnaire and interview data from seven cities, in order to compare best management practices for sidewalk construction and maintenance in public right-of way. The plan was adopted by the City Council in June of 2016 and is serving as the blueprint for the implementation of the city sidewalk network improvements over the next 10 years.
