MWM DesignGroup President Julia Harrod, P.E. receives Merit Award by the National Society of Professional Engineers
Julia Harrod was honored at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the National Society of Professional Engineers, held this summer in San Diego. Although the meeting marked the ending of her term as president of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers, her achievements were recognized by her peers who granted her the 2012 Professional Engineers in Private Practice (PEPP) Merit Award. This award is presented to committee chairs or members, PEPP members serving in liaison functions or on joint activities, and to society members who have made significant contributions to the engineering profession. In addition, the employer of a PEPP Merit Award recipient is recognized for the support the consulting engineering firm has given to the profession through the activities of the PEPP Merit Award recipient: so congratulations to MWM DesignGroup as well. Julia joins the small and select group of engineers, and engineering firms, commended with a Merit Award. She is one of only four women to have been honored with this prestigious award!
