This year Imad Salem, Field Engineering Lead, will celebrate 24 years with MWM DesignGroup. His work with the Austin Transportation Department, City of Austin spans several programs that affect the transportation and safety of our neighborhoods.

Some of those programs include:
- Safe Routes to School
- Austin Strategic Mobility Plan
- Corridor Improvement Programs
- Creative Crosswalks
- Pedestrian Safety Action Plan
- Shared Mobility Services

When asked, "How do engineers make a difference in our world?"

He answered, "Engineers shape our society and improve the way we live. Clean water, wastewater treatment, reliable energy, accessible and compliant routes, transportation, infrastructure all rely on engineering solutions that make the world a comfortable, safer, more exciting place to live."

MWM DesignGroup's Land Development Project Manager, Jason Bass, has been apart of our team for over four years. A few projects he is currently working on:
- starting the new North Parking Garage at ACC Highland Campus. - finishing construction on South Parking Garage at ACC
- preliminary design phase for the Mexican American Cultural Center phase 2.

When asked, "How do engineers make a difference in our world?"

He says, "Without them we would not have shelter from the elements, utilities, ability to travel long distances, modern medical advances, technology or equipment required for life-sustaining agricultural operations. Engineers have moved life from merely surviving to living."

Matthew White is a Land Development EIT at MWM DesignGroup. A Texas transplant (previously a lifelong Massachusettsan,) Matthew has already engineered a delicious Texas Chili recipe.

When asked, "How do engineers make a difference in our world?"

Matthew replied, "I like to think the work we do as engineers is essential to living and will forever be necessary. From designing roadways, buildings, and community spaces to solving existing logistical issues around the world, engineers make life easier to navigate."

Steve Zobal has been with MWM DesignGroup since 2008. His 'specialty' is Water Resources (Water/Wastewater/Drainage engineering.) He has also become a self-taught SME in Traffic Control Plan engineering.

Steve says, "When we, as civil engineers, perform our work with excellence, the general public never has to read about infrastructure in the news."
